Thrive

Naming, logo design and visual identity

Thrive South West is a health and fitness studio built on the belief that training should support you through every stage of life — not just peak performance, but longevity, strength, and well-being.

Previously operating as part of a larger gym, the owner, Lee, was ready to reposition, step out on his own, and create a brand that reflected his evolving philosophy.

Because this wasn’t just a new studio – Lee did his homework – it was now a fresh start with a much clearer purpose.

He wanted to move away from the noise of mainstream fitness culture and build a brand rooted in long-term health, personal growth, and real-life performance. Whether someone was just starting out, training for sport, returning from injury, or navigating midlife changes, Lee had the tools.

Target Audience
We’re talking to real people — not just gym-goers or athletes, but anyone looking to move better, feel stronger, and continue (or start) to live well. The audience spans young adults to active mid/late-lifers, and those recovering from setbacks to those chasing new challenges.

The Goals
First things first, a name was needed – and a visual identity that felt strong, accessible, and aligned with Lee’s values. Something that would resonate with existing and potential clients and stand out in a crowded local fitness market.

Working closely with Lee, I helped shape the brand from the ground up — starting with naming, defining the concept, and creating the strapline: Health, fitness and performance, for life.

The logo and visual identity was designed to reflect movement and energy – whilst being grounded with progression.

The Result

Thrive was launched with a professional new brand that Lee’s proud of. It’s a name and identity that reflects his deep expertise and approachable ethos. The identity sets the tone for a space where people feel seen, supported, and challenged in all the best ways.

A brand built not just for now, but for the long run (/ride/life).
